Andoni Ethnic Nationality OBOLO As we love to be called
......
Andoni (Obolo) people are among the first group of people to develop a strong ethnic identity in the Niger Delta.
We speak Obolo language and share common boundries with the Bonnys ,Ogonis,Okrikas,Kalabaries,Ibibios in Akwa Ibom State and Opobos (established on Andoni land in 1869)
......
Historically we dominated the fishing industry of the coastal waters of Niger Delta and were among the first to come in contact with the Europeans.
.......
Although 40% of the oil revenues in rivers and akwa_ibom state are gotten from andoni land. The Obolo people have been neglected by succesive governments. As the area is still begging for development and government presence.
